What are bearer shares?

Bearer shares is a type of share that represents ownership of a portion of the social capital of a public limited company, but does not have the owner’s name recorded in any company document or book. Therefore, the owner of the bearer share is simply the one who physically has it in his possession, and can transfer it to another person just by handing it over.
