What is payment-in-kind?

Payment-in-Kind refers to a form of workers’ compensation in which an employee receives tangible goods, services, or benefits rather than receiving a monetary salary or salary. These benefits are not straight money, but rather “things” that have value and contribute to an employee’s total compensation package.
