What is payment-in-kind?
Payment-in-Kind refers to a form of workers’ compensation in which an employee receives tangible goods, services, or benefits rather than receiving a monetary salary or salary. These benefits are not straight money, but rather “things” that have value and contribute to an employee’s total compensation package.
For example, the use of company vehicles or employer-provided housing, health insurance, per diems, among others
