What is custom?

A custom is a way of creating law from the repetition of acts or behaviors that are accepted and respected by the majority of the members of a community and that, over time, have established themselves as considered norms of conduct mandatory and binding for its members without the need for a written law to support them. It is based on experience and tradition, and adapts to the needs and circumstances of each society.
