What is a debtor?

The figure of the debtor is the passive subject (natural or legal person) of a legal relationship that has the obligation to comply with a benefit in favor of another person, called a creditor. The debtor will have to respond with his present and future assets to fulfill his obligation, which may consist of a service to give, to do or not to do.

The rights that are held against a debtor are personal.
