Employment notice period

What is the employment notice period?

The notice period in the workplace is understood as a period of time in which one of the parties (employee or company) must notify the other party in advance about a fact or change that affects the contract.

For example, a worker notifies his boss of a leave.

For example, a company wants to fire a worker.

The advance notice may be established, depending on the cases, in the Workers’ Statute or established by the corresponding collective agreement or employment contract.

The notice period normally computes in calendar days.
